Who we are…..

The Triangle Home Nursery Association, located in central North Carolina, is a cooperative group of teachers who work to support each other’s continuing growth and understanding of Rudolf Steiner’s spiritual insights as they relate to Early Childhood. We strive to support the ideals of Waldorf Education in a home-based setting by fostering an environment where the joy of childhood is alive. We facilitate support within our community for families and build bridges into the wider community through social and educational events.

What we do….

Our Home Nurseries provide the first step from home to a nurturing, yet structured environment that is play- based. Waldorf Education emphasizes the importance of play to develop the child’s imagination in the early years.  As young children learn through imitation, the teacher influences the children through example.  Love, goodness, cooperation, sharing, warmth, security, and trust are all expressed, modeled, and encouraged.  In general, the Home Nurseries offer 3-5 mornings per week for children ages 2 1/2 -5 years.  In a Home Nursery the morning is a balance of group and individual activities that provide a healthy and secure rhythm for the child.  There are special activities each day such as painting, baking, beeswax and gardening.  The yearly rhythm comes alive through seasonal activities, storytelling and festivals.
